NEC Photo Show deals

A few of deals of note this year.
EM1 mk2 at 1699 with free grip and bag from Olympus if you buy a spare battery. The bag seems to be a very smart leather one that will take several lenses too (edit I've opened it and it's very smart from Gillies of London supposed to be worth 299). Price and offer is the same at LCE and Camera World. Couldn't resist this one
Lumix 100-400mm lens 1099 at LCE but they only had 4 left at about 11:00 today. That's about 200 off.
Spyder 5 Pro at 112 from Camera World. 129 at Calumet and Datacolour themselves.

I'm sure there were more but these were the ones that most interested me.
Happy shopping

Re: NEC Photo Show deals

The Gilles bag smells gorgeous, but is very heavy! Might be good for taking tinnies to a posh picnic, but I don't think I'll be carrying camera gear in mine.

Best deal I've found is 1699 for the 300 Pro at LCE: the only other big retailer there is CameraWorld and they're listing it at 200 more. Odd, but I couldn't resist...

Credit card now quivering in the corner

Re: NEC Photo Show deals

1699 is pretty good Mark, well spotted.
I saw Damien McGillygoody using his bag on the way home. Mind you it could have been full of tinnies

Re: NEC Photo Show deals

Yes, I've only seen a handful of used ones at that price before. I did wonder if it might have been a mistake, which did encourage the hand towards the wallet before they changed their mind! They've certainly got 3 or 4 more in the display cabinet at that price and maybe more at the back.

That's a great price for the em1ii, shame I'm no way near Birmingham as I'm in the market for one.

Re: NEC Photo Show deals

Nawty why not try SRS as they are doing some show deals at the moment to compete. Maybe they would price match? Also you could try Jessops as I got the same price quoted last week for their demo model that they had only just received. My guess they would price match too. There seemed to be pretty brisk sales at the show so I bet there will be plenty of used EM1 mk1s for sale soon.

Re: NEC Photo Show deals

I think a lot of us had that sort of price in mind as the 'likely' ('hoped for' might be better!) level at launch, probably without the grip, though.

I think there are a few of us going.
I'm aiming to be at the stand for noon.

I'll be there tomorrow too. I think there'll be a number of us around the stand at noon.

Re: NEC Photo Show deals

Excellent presentations today from Tesni Ward (wildlife) and Steve Gosling (landscape) with the mkii on the Olympus stand. Full of helpful tips on setting up, plus very impressive demonstrations of the capabilities of the 300 and the 12-100 with the new body.

Re: NEC Photo Show deals

For those getting their sensor cleaned get to the Oly stand early. On Saturday I went straight there and there were already about 20 in the queue. I know it was the weekend but just in case.
