Re: From tonight's Pen E-P1 bash at Jessops in New Oxford Street

Thanks Ian for the invite, Anne and I were pleased to touchy feely the E-P1 - albeit the pocket will feel lighter soon as Anne is keen to have one.

A few pix from us (non four thirds, sorry).

Anne meets David Bailey.

Ian and 007

Anne shows James Bond (Donald Standen) the E-P1

Angela Nicholson of AP - a very nice lady.

Two icons of the photographic world - Barry Lategan with David Bailey.

Looks like it was a great event, wish I could have made it!

Does Bailey ever smile?

Last pic comparing size of Pen to G1 shows why Pen hasn't got a viewfinder. I think it's well worth the trade off!

Oh he was laughing and joking loads - but he never smiles when his picture is being taken...

David Bailey, makes love daily

BTW, nice to see Angela Nicholson holding an Olympus camera and smiling!

Ah, that explains it. At his age he hasn't got enough energy left to smile!

Re: From tonight's Pen E-P1 bash at Jessops in New Oxford Street

Hi John -

We are both on our way out now, but I'll post a pic of Anne's later with a huge Bailey smile.

I have to say the evening was superb - a great buzz from the many and there were lots of folk present. I get the feeling the PEN will find many pockets in which to slip. We both think the camera has more plusses with only a couple of negatives - time will tell.

Regards. Barr1e

Thumbs up Re: From tonight's Pen E-P1 bash at Jessops in New Oxford Street

An absolutly brilliant new camera, a really lovely young lady, and everyones attention distracted (Thanks David) an opportunity to set this up and snap it simply could not be neglected...

It's incredibly difficult to take good pictures at these events, but the quality of the images produced by the E-P1 are quite remarkable. Certianly something that will appear on my birthday list...

Ah, so he does - must have caught him off-guard! Seriously (that's me for a change, not him) he's a great photographer, a true legend. I've always dreamed of the day someone approaches him while he is taking a photograph and says (to paraphrase the classic old Olympus advert) "Who do you think you are, John Perriment?"

Agreed - especially with a p+s and then over compensating the skin colour when pping and upsetting the white balance - doh.

Anne and I had a terrific time there and hope you enjoyed it too.

Nice pic Graham of a pretty Penny.

Re: From tonight's Pen E-P1 bash at Jessops in New Oxford Street

It was good to meet all on the evening and nice to have a play with the camera, considering the light in the place I thought the focus was pretty good and it does feel well made.

Looks like a good evening was had by all. Alas I had to go back home to Manchester that evening so couldn't make it. Will be having a serious look at the camera though.
