Re: Misty Sunrise over Carsington

Thanks Mark. I was tempted to boost the contrast and saturation more to see if I could sharpen it up when I processed it but I then thought actually its closer to what I saw and afterall it was quite hazy till the sun got up quite a bit higher. So I left it a bit soft and fuzzy.

That's one fabulous picture, Phill. Impeccable timing, composition and exposure.

Re: Misty Sunrise over Carsington

Thanks Mark much appreciated. Actually i was quite pleased myself as I did actually plan this shot. I worked out where I needed to be and at what time from TPE and I also whet and had a look the day before. There were several points on the road I found from Google map views but when actually there the vegitation had grown so high at most of them I couldn't see over it. Even at the couple of spots where there were farm gates there was an electric pylon and cables ruining the shot so I followed the road till the cables crossed it and managed to find this little hole in the foliage with no cables in view. Probably the first time for me that planning has worked out so well. Definitely a spot to remember for a frosty morning.

Re: Misty Sunrise over Carsington

Yes Phill, it often happens that a cracker shot such as this results from careful planning. The problem for me nowadays is that I no longer have that fire in the belly to get me out of bed that early.

Perfect planning resulted in a perfect picture. Any one of us would be proud to get a result like that.

Re: Misty Sunrise over Carsington

Thanks for all the encouraging words guys much appreciated. Strangely in this hot summer I'd not had much mojo to get out and shoot stuff you've really boosted my enthusiasm.
Iain that framing was fairly fortuitous as it was the best hole in the undergrowth that showed the water the sun and avoided an ugly electric pylon and cables. I'll take the credit for finding the spot though
