Snails Pace

On the face of it they look easy to photograph...don't believe it.....they move like express trains when under the macro lens....trying to get a decent dof and out of strong sun means the speed does not always match their movement.
The blue was a bag I was using as I found a lot of these while tidying up the garden.

Re: Snails Pace

Nicely exposed and good DoF control. Brown-lipped snail.

Re: Snails Pace

Nice shot Keith, snails are a difficult subject, deeper than you expect and easily spooked into retracting.

But you've got a colourful one against a good background.

Re: Snails Pace

Yes there are quite a few common species but one very similar to this is the White-lipped snail - I leave you to guess the difference!

Once again an excellent shot.

Ah someone who understands how tricky these are.
Problems I found were...
Keep it out of bright sun
Try and get deep dof
Then still need a good speed as they are super fast through a macro lens
Keep parallel to the lens....
Easy peasy after that.

Thanks evreyone again.
