Marnie by Sigma 56mm F1.4 assisted by Olympus E-M1

A couple of shots from today. I am really loving the Sigma 56mm F1.4! Its nice to get some time with it finally. Exposures not quite perfect but these are completely unaltered jpegs.
Regards
Tim

Another great BIF! (Ball's In Focus) Right on trend. Looks like a great lens.

Great images of the dog and so sharp but I wonder, could the lens be just too sharp for a human face? Too clinical and sterile?

Nice pictures, seems to be an excellent lens.

Go for sharpness every time!

You can do what you like with image information that you've captured, but you can't do anything with detail that you haven't!

You can always soften a sharp photo, but you can only give the impression of sharpness with a soft photo.

Re: Marnie by Sigma 56mm F1.4 assisted by Olympus E-M1

It is incredibly sharp even at F1.4 but it seems fine for portraits of people so far Although, I havent shown everyone their image yet so there could be some complaints!

Tim

Here is a child portrait with the Sigma @f2.0 untouched straight out of cameras as usual!

Re: Marnie by Sigma 56mm F1.4 assisted by Olympus E-M1

I have read a couple of reviews on the Sigma 56mm F1.4 recently where they describe the sharpness @f1.4 in the middle as only 'acceptable'! Im not quite sure what they were measuring the lens against but I can assure anyone looking to buy this lens that it is excellent from F1.4 ( probably not the corners but that is not important for portraits ).
