They didn't: They sat in cold, dark rooms and were persuaded by the politicians that it was 'good for them'.

Likewise queuing for bread and other essentials was all part of the joy of a socialist state.

Come to that; remember how long it used to take to get a phone line connected in this country in the days of the GPO?

No "old farts" on here so maybe you've got confused ( it happens in old age ) Watching the BBC Parliament Channel and seeing those sat in the "House", constantly talking nonsense, could be the cause of your confusion.
