Olympus Workspace - first update for Windows users only

I'm impressed with the Olympus Workspace software, which has now been updated to 1.0.1 (for Windows), having previously used Olympus Viewer 3 for some editing. I find that I have used Capture One (10) less, although it still beats an Olympus program for highlight recovery though.

Just two added features that come to mind are Clarity & Dehaze. They are effective too as seen in this thread, being useful for improving any photo but also those photos from the Stylus 1. Another is the Tilt Adjustment improvement. It actually tilts as the slider is moved (unlike OV3). Also Adjust Vignetting is useful too as I have used here.

Here is the link for the details of the first update for Oly Workspace. Olympus Workspace Update for Windows https://cs.olympus-imaging.jp/en/sup...update_win.cfm

Re: Olympus Workspace - first update.

I've got quite used to OV3 and I miss the seperate RAW and JPEG engines (especially as you could go back and tweak the RAW development mid processing).

Re: Olympus Workspace - first update.

Thanks Ross just updated mine. Interestingly when I launched Olympus Workspace it did not offer me an update! I for one like OW over OV3 I mainly use it when taking astrophotography images and it works so much quicker rendering the image 1:1 when checking for rounded stars. I would like it to have a FWHM tool but realise that maybe too specialized. This would really help fine tune when focusing stars. I think this would be helpful for those taking milkyway images as well.

Re: Olympus Workspace - first update.

Thanks for the news on the update - it took me a while to re-find the link so here it is

https://support.olympus-imaging.com/owdownload/download

that automatically installs 1.0.1 rather than install then update

Regards
Andy

Re: Olympus Workspace - first update.

FWIW you can update from the program itself - Help>Update Software.

Nice to see that Olympus software engineering and documentation continue with their detailed descriptions of what's included

Re: Olympus Workspace - first update.

LOL

We have a stat at work that says we do about 15 pages of documents for every page of code. Mind you we are dealing with medical information so it's a bit more critical than photo processing. We think so anyway

Andy

I have version 1.0.0 installed but when I attempt to update as above it tells me that I am already using the latest version and there is no need to update.

I am not bothered as I can't get on with the software so I have stopped attempting to use it.

Sorry. I’ve now updated my first post. Maybe Andy could edit the title of the thread too.
