Question Which is best for print?

Which of these three images would be best for a B&W print for display & what colour surrounding mat (frame) would work best? All were processed in Olympus Viewer 3 using the Art Filters (I know other programmes might do better, but this is what I am using for this).

Dramatic Tone with Pin Hole effect.

Soft Focus with White Edge

Soft Focus with White Edge & darkened shadows (-2).

Thanks for any feedback.

Thanks for that. That's the one my daughter likes too & I have to get to the shop for more glossy paper (the Kodak matte doesn't look as good) to reprint it (as there was too much grass at the bottom that I've now cropped off for these images). I just might wait for the rain to ease off first though, but I do need it for tonight's (Monday) photograghy club meet.

Re: Which is best for print?

The dramatic tone filter is to harsh on the highlights in no 1 for me.

So as a suggestion no 3 with just a little more contrast and a black keyline on the print and a white mat.

I agree with that plus a little work on the eyes to give a bit more sparkle in the catch lights. That latter not done in my reply by the way!!

Re: Which is best for print?

Thanks for the suggestions, but the judge for the night didn't particularly like dogs anyhow & cats even less.

At least I have some ideas for my own use.
