Water Pipit or Wheatear
by Mark Johnson, on Flickr

Water Pipit or Wheatear?? Taken down on Llanelli seafront, scrub and marsh nearby. They have a white rump seen when flying away. I have seen them (a pair) before so look like a resident...

Wheatear. The name is said to come from the traditional name 'White a***', referring to the white rump. They are migrants on passage.

Yep that's the same bird. Thanks Walti………..The pair I have seen are certainly lingering in the same spot before migrating. They have been there several weeks...
