Anyone used an EC14 with 14-54 lens?

Has anyone ever used an EC14 with the ZD14-54 (II) lens at all? Is it at all practical or just totally of no benefit with that range?

I would use it with my Sigma 150 macro lens & maybe the ZD70-300 lens for bright day or tripod use (if I really need that extra length), but to convince my wife that my money would be well spent in getting it, if I could add another lens to the list that would be usable with it, that would be nice.

That's why I ask if there is any point using it with the 14-54 lens.

Thanks in advance for anybody kind enough to reply.

I've used it with the 14-54 (I) lens with great success. The extra reach is v nice...though the 17/18mm wide end is a bit weird to start with. All in all a nice combination.

Thanks for that. When I asked my wife if I could buy the EC14 for my birthday (middle of this month), she asked, "how many lenses do you have?". After listing them I showed her my EX25 & said it's just like this but with lenses in it (along with some more details). Now I have to make sure I get something of at least equal value, seeing as I left the buying of gifts to my kids for mothers day (& she hasn't forgotten it either ) & get her a nice birthday present next month. She has misplaced her P&S camera; maybe it might be prudent of me to buy her something to replace it with now.

Now you'll have to get her a brand new e-pM1 in some girly colour ... and the adapter to put your EC14 & 14-54 lens in front. Super combo! Weddings anyone?

Somehow I think she'll see through that.

Shame she's told me a replacement camera can't be more than $200.

I'll get her a good enough P&S that will be the best performer for the money now (although I will probably pay more for it) & get her something else that's nice (jewellery or something) for her birthday & hopefully I won't look quite so bad in her eyes as I add to my kit.

The main thing that helps in my defence is to show her the results from using the different lenses & additions to my kit & especially for any photos I take for her, such as at her school functions etc. as well as family occasions. It becomes a little harder with macro & telephoto lenses in that application, but then again, I've paid money to her school to enter my photos into their photo competition with both those types of subjects (birds, bugs & spiders).
