Ancient and Modern

An overcast afternoon in Hungerford. We called in the town church which may appear to be Victorian, but the original on the site dates back to 1100 or so. I'm surprised the graveyard is as flat as it is. Most thousand year old graveyards are several feet higher that the surroundings. Ahem...

Anyway, inside is spotted this and I just loved the lighting.

In fact the lighting at the other end was pretty good too, so I tried a hi-res shot of it.

I'm not certain what I make of this wall memorial though:

Finally, in the Hungerford Antiques Arcade I spotted this little treasure. An original box KT66. I wonder if it still works.

I would have nabbed it, but 24 is a bit steep, and I would prefer a Pear.

Re: Ancient and Modern

As usual some impeccable detail shots. What's with the human skull set in an ammonite?
