A couple of mono landsacpes

Here are a couple of mono landscapes I have taken recently

Here is a morning shot of Bamburgh Lighthouse which was planned as mono from before the image was framed.

Here is wasdale in late afternoon sun with the looming clouds of a snow storm.

What do you think?

Like them both, but contrary to Phil I feel the treatment of first one makes more of the image because it abstracts it to texture and pattern and the underlying colours arenít very interesting, while Iím missing the lovely colours that I know are in the second.

I suspect the second might be the way to go if there was a storm coming and he sky was more lowering.

Both very nice Alf. I think the first works well in mono, but I'm not sure of the second. A bit of colour there would work wonders I'm sure

Re: A couple of mono landsacpes

Yes the second would probably look even better in colour. Looking back at the first one I think it's the proportions of grass to background image that puts me off. Just too much grass for me but yes I agree it probably looks better in b&w than it would in colour unless the sky is really blue.

While they both work well enough they are for me mono images and are staying that way.
