These are very nice Harold. The spider in 1,4 and 5 is very nice. You must be pleased.

My favourite is this one Alf. It is taking up such a strong pose and the holly leaf really helps.

I do wonder about the grass leaf, a bit green and takes my eye. But if it wasn't there, it would be a funny shaped hole...sometimes I fiddle too much.

Thanks, Alf.

That session lasted about 45 minutes, most of it waiting for the spider to give a good shot & keep still!

Thanks, Peter.

With Crab Spiders I am pleased to get a shot at all. The last one of this species took three visits on separate days!

Perhaps a Long-winged Conehead?

Re: Communal Dragonfly, Butterfly and Insect photo thread

Toadflax Brocade Moth Larvae

Last year, just a week later than this, my wife found these very attractive caterpillars. This coincided with the arrival of my Printing-Nikkor 150mm, so I took a lot of images, some with triple flash. They are to be found here:

http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1387726/

My wife found two of these caterpillars a few days ago. At first I resisted, having dealt with the subject so thoroughly last year. However, there was not much else around so I decided to show what my standard setup, of Kiron 105mm and twin TTL flash could do.

Harold

These are really lovely shots. I love the little silver balls on the skin in several (on the head end near the eyes) and also on this shot the surface tension on the water droplet as it touches the caterpillar. Did you spray for water droplets?.

The details you and Alf show are amazing.

regards

Peter

Alf this one is my favourite. I have never seen any of the details on these spiders before. And this is such a nice design to the frame.
