Impressed with the E-PL2

As well as playing around with my E-5 and Sigma 150 I gave the E-PL2 and both kit lenses a run around the block (well around the back garden).

I must admit to being really quite impressed with this little camera and the lenses, especially the 40-150.

The first two images were taken with the 14-42 at 14mm and the last three were taken with the 40-150 wide open at 150mm. The Pigeon is pretty much a 100% crop.

Re: Impressed with the E-PL2

I can predict you are going to get a lot of use from this combination. Love the squirrel shot, cheeky little pest and that 40-150 shows great bokeh in the close up of the blossom with the bee.

I have a feeling that you will right with that prediction John
Also thanks for the positive comments

One point that I find very impressive is the ease with which you can manually focus using the VF-2 by quickly zooming in on the focus area.
Also the VF-2 whilst not yet OVF quality is still very very good and useful especially for giving an accurate indication of exposure as well as changing settings on the fly with the super control panel.
In fact in some circumstances it is possible to react to a shooting situation quicker than with the E-5.

Thanks for your comments Iain

I'm sorry but I can't report on the balance with my 4/3 lenses because I don't yet have the adapter. This will possibly be my next purchase either that or the Panny 20mm f/1.7 /Oly 17mm f/2.8.

Judging by the size I would say that the 50 f/2 would be fine, but the 12-60 and alike will be on the large size.
I can imagine that you would basically end up mostly supporting lens rather than 25/75 (lens/body) in the case of the E-5.

Good results, especially with the micro 40-150.

Thanks Stephen, yes I think the Zuiko m.4/3 40-150 is a little cracker of a lens

I don't know if your interested but here's a gumtree offer on the Oly 17mm. I don't have any affiliation to this I just came across it.

The squirrel shot is the stand out for me.

Thanks for that Jamie, to be honest I have not decided which lens I will go for just yet but it was kind of you to post the link
