BTW, the recently announced GFX-50R looks very interesting for anyone wanting a serious 'large, slow, mega-detailed' body to add to a 'small, fast, adequately detailed' m4/3 system for things like landscape and studio work where the wonderful image-feel of medium format is unrivalled, and noticeably superior to what FF can achieve. Sure it's expensive, but it's way cheaper than anything else around, and I strongly suggest they'll make it very usable.
My first thought on seeing the the GFX-50R was “If I had that amount of money simply going spare”....

Pany 10-25 is now around at £1799. Not sure who it is supposed to appeal to; was outside my budget. Maybe wedding photographers for indoor use?

Maybe astrophotography, as long as the optical performance is good enough at 10mm. Niche market, though.

I suppose combined with a zoom starting around 40mm with/without a teleconverter it’d make more flexible use than the 12-35 f2.8.

It's an interesting lens for sure. Basically as many f1.7 primes as you like in the 20-50mm equivalent focal length range. It'll suit some people for sure, but I suspect it's the videographers who'll find it most appealing. With a focus clutch and clickless aperture ring, it's clearly top of Panasonic's mind.
