Panasonic 100-400mm test shots

Not the greatest shot but was having a play with the newly acquired 100-400mm again today and have to say I'm pretty impressed with the detail (might be best viewed on Flickr). This is about a 50% crop.

Re: Panasonic 100-400mm test shots

When I bought mine, I had read a review saying it was 'ok' but nothing special. Well, I disagree and your photo shows why I have found this lens excellent for birds, dragonflies, and butterflies; the latter two because of its close-focus ability.
The only thing to watch is accidentally moving the switches on the side, while mounting the lens - I have turned both the AF and stabilisation 'off' without realising. I also find it very good for birds in flight with the E-M1-ii but less good on models without phase-detect AF.

Thanks. I'm yet to give it a proper outing, but shots so far look promising. I don't find the switches an problem to be honest, but my only grievances are the stiff zoom ring, and that the tripod mount doesn't turn 180 degrees as I like to have the tripod mount on top to use as a handle for carrying.
