Re: Communal Bird Photography Thread

I don't often photograph Starlings but I thought this quartet looked quite appealing as they perched on the old net drying posts at Lowestoft. Thousands of them have been arriving in off the sea here in recent days so, hopefully, there should soon be some spectacular murmurations to watch (if I can find them.)

Re: Communal Bird Photography Thread

Ron, a friend posted a very nice shot of a murmuration over the burnt-out pier at Brighton on Instagram today. There is some nice colour in the sky being picked up by the sea.

Re: Communal Bird Photography Thread

Looks more like a song thrush to me. Got the same problem as that heron! You'll have to lay off the jungle juice (joking)

Goldfinch by mack100, on Flickr

Nuthatch by mack100, on Flickr

Went out in poor light yesterday to Warnham nature reserve in West Sussex. I think these are the highest ISO's I've yet used on perching birds.
Plenty of kingfisher activity but all heavily backlit, I must work out the best time of day to get there.
