Doh!

Lovely 6 mile walk at Upton Grey today, actually a bit too hot.
Checked my 65 images when I got back, all Jpegs not a RAW in sight

Re: Doh!

I'm not saying anything.

But you have given me an idea for a blog post.

Re: Doh!

My better half doesn't quite get the torture I'm feeling
I should have been living in the moment, which I guess is fair comment.

My rule is that if I deviate from my normal settings I changed back as soon as the shoot is done. I also check the SCP before a shoot just in case.

It's known as a brain fart over here. I had one this morning trying to get my debit card out of my reading glasses case, I was already wearing my reading glasses. The woman in the shop found it all highly amusing.

Re: Doh!

I had been messing about in the SCP before I left, swapping between different Jpeg compressions (I shoot RAW+Jpeg). I must have forgotten to switch it back.
Live and learn....

Re: Doh!

I've messed up some never to be repeated moments with this type of behaviour.

Re: Doh!

But at least you had a card in the camera!

A few moths ago I spotted a spectacular rainbow over our village against a very dark sky. Without a second thought I grabbed my camera and coat, ran down the back garden, ran across the fields in heavy rain, and composed the perfect shot; only to be greeted by the message 'No Card'!

The card was still in my laptop, and I didn't even have my phone with me.

How annoying, I think you've out done me there

What made it worse was that the card was almost within sight, just a few minutes run away, but rainbows just don't hang around waiting for numpty photographers to run home for SD cards.

Re: Doh!

Fingers crossed you'll get another opportunity like that (armed with an array of memory options) in the future.

Certainly done that once, but fortunately carry a spare in the camera bag

Good question Harold
Shooting RAW alone doesn't really allow you to review image sharpness close to 100%.
So I tend to shoot RAW + Jpeg Fine to enable a worthwhile quick review.
I was having a look at Superfine to see if there was any discernable difference for reviewing purposes (just curiosity), to my eye the answer is no.
I switched back Jpeg fine but without RAW hence the frustration
