Pistol grip

Anyone used a pistol grip with their 300mm lens. Used on the lens not the camera.

Re: Pistol grip

No, but I have been using these for a very long time and find them very good:

https://www.fotospeed.com/Easy-Shoul...K96008/K96008/

(A "shoulder pod" supposedly designed for video cameras, for those who don't like following links). It works really well with the 300 f/4 and the chunky 4/3 lenses like the 50-200 with a converter, and it folds up pretty small. For me, it's not enough to support the big monster lenses but very useful for the intermediate stuff.

Re: Pistol grip

Not like that one, but I have one that also opens up to a mini tripod.

Not used a lot, but can be quite handy.

Re: Pistol grip

There are a couple of Vanguard heads that have reasonable reviews, one even has a built in shutter release!
Probably doesn't work on Olympus cameras :-)
