Nominations for Room 101 (Some replies may have political content)

I'd like to nominate all those stupid people who block the aisles in supermarkets with their trolleys as they stand side by side talking not shopping

The same type of trolley pusher also finds it essential to stop with their trolley either in the entrance or exit to the store as they rummage through their bags looking for something, completely stopping anyone else entering or leaving the store

They look completely put out when they are asked to move out of the way, as if they have no idea of what they are doing.

Re: Nominations for Room 101

People who don't "pick up" after their dogs or those who do pick it up in a bag and then throw the bag in a bush or tree and leave it hanging there

(and I'm a dog owner)

Yep this one really gets up my nose as well.
My nomination is cyclists who think traffic lights/zebra crossings don't apply to them.

Re: Nominations for Room 101

1) People that say 'disinterested' when they mean 'uninterested' because they think it sounds erudite, but the words have totally different meanings! I even hear it being used by BBC commentators now!

2) TV documentaries where they make a 'whoosh' sound on each scene change, or zoom in on a feature with cross hairs, accompanied by a 'tick, tick ticking'.

3) People that spit their chewing gum on the pavement. Watford Hight Street pavement is 'polka dotted' with the stuff, and now the grooved decking on 'The Bridge to Nowhere' across the pond is ingrained with blobs, making it almost impossible to remove.

I could go on indefinitely, but then I'm an intolerant b'stard!

Re: Nominations for Room 101

There is little more annoying than being stuck in a traffic queue moving more slowly than one can walk and one passes a sign "Reduce Speed Now".

Yes, yes yes!

Even worse - when you're crawling along on the M25 at 4 MPH and the overhead signs say to reduce speed to 40 MPH. In your dreams - it's as if they're deliberately taking the piss!

Re: Nominations for Room 101

Supermarket cashiers who appear to be going for a new Olympic scanning speed record and then sit inspecting their nails as I struggle to pack the jumble of items in front of me, while reaching for my debit card with my free hand.

On the other hand, self-service tills are even worse. Perhaps I just don't like supermarkets.

Re: Nominations for Room 101

The idiot car drivers that either can't drive or are so inconsiderate that they take up two car spaces & then there are the pedestrians that are worse than Brown's cows as they just keep coming across the pedestrian crossing, as one steps off another decides to step on even though the traffic is queued back a mile (OK, I exaggerate, 100 metres). They wouldn't have the capacity to even think about letting a car or two through.

Re: Nominations for Room 101 (Political content warning)

Hypocritical MP's condemning NHS staff for strike action over a (well deserved and independently assessed) 1% payrise whilst accepting a 10% pay rise themselves thereby taking their salary to 74k pa.

Double standards - not in their dictionary or on their moral compass apparently.

Drivers who think that all other road users are psychic, so never bother to use their indicators.

Re: Nominations for Room 101

People at dinner parties or social gatherings that can't seem to get through a course or a conversation without checking or responding to tweets on their sodding phones.

It's even worse when they say "I must take / answer this" - Really????

Remember life before mobile phones?
