Insects

It has been ages since I have posted here - too much time flirting with a GF1 on another forum. However, I have been relearning my Olympus SLRs as nothing beats the full four-thirds glass and I plan to take an Oly for a holiday in India.

Still trying to make my mind up here about which body to take. These were taken today with the E-400 and the 35 mm macro handheld.

It seems to be a pretty sharp combination.

Re: Insects

Lovely sharp shot of the hoverfly.

The 35mm is an incredible wee lens.

Re: Insects

They are really nice. I'm amazed you could get so close to the hover fly with that lens.

Re: Insects

That hoverfly shot is excellent. How far away was it taken from? The DOF is spot on.

Re: Insects

I was about 4 inches away - pretty much the same as the top shot - and have cropped it. The detail holds up rather well.

I find that hoverflies seem to take more time on flowers so that they are easier to photograph than bees.
