Just got another swarm in the beehive...









Got a bit cocky with this one and moved into the flightpath.... one got caught in my hair and stung me

Those are all great shots Walti

Sadly it would be physically impossible for any bee or other insect to get stuck in my hair

Hope it didn't hurt too much !

Trouble is that once you've been stung once, the poison sack stays there, pumping pheromones out to attract the guard bees, so a hasty retreat was called for as I was wearing shorts and a tee shirt!

Slightly worse than a nettle sting to be honest, you get used to it when you keep them!

I think I'll use the 300+tc for the next attempt so I can try to get a better DoF and shutter speed to get the wings (this was at 1/100th and they're invisible) oh, and a little further away!
