Re: NEC Photo Show deals

I can second what Jim said, I got there at 10:30 and there was a queue of about 5 or 6. Didn't take too long to go down though but it did take all day to get my cleaned camera back so best to get there as early as you can. They did seem very busy this year, successful service no doubt.

Re: NEC Photo Show deals

I attended the show. On Monday. Did not recognise anyone though

Succumbed to the mk2 along with the free grip and bag. Smells lovely but failing to see its use!! Not even sure how to put the camera in it with a lenses attached!!

Yes the wildlife talk was well done, as was the 'Dallas' talk. But they were selling the mk2......(and I fell for it)

Beginning to get to grips with the new beast....and an enjoyable day

EM1 mk2 at 1699 with free grip and bag from Olympus if you buy a spare battery. The bag seems to be a very smart leather one that will take several lenses too (edit I've opened it and it's very smart from Gillies of London supposed to be worth 299). Price and offer is the same at LCE and Camera World. Couldn't resist this one
Lumix 100-400mm lens 1099 at LCE but they only had 4 left at about 11:00 today. That's about 200 off.
Spyder 5 Pro at 112 from Camera World. 129 at Calumet and Datacolour themselves.

I'm sure there were more but these were the ones that most interested me.
Happy shopping
I wish I had waited till now to get the Mk2

Maybe this will help? I've just got to try and remember who was who though...

Re: NEC Photo Show deals

I think I recognise a few faces from previous years but can't help with names I'm afraid. We really ought to sort out some name badges for event such as these.

Yes - name badges, lanyards etc?
Some way of identifying other forum users. I was there, but didn't recognise anyone I'd previously met. Chatted to a few here and there, and generally had a good day!

Re: NEC Photo Show deals

I wasn't there myself but would a badge for forum members help? If other members spotted one they could introduce themselves and have a chat. It could also help to promote this forum, although we would have to work out what it is actually called. Just an idea.

Re: NEC Photo Show deals

Cindy.. I can probably provide a picture of you to the group

However it will probably be something very unflattering of you in a muddy quarry, wearing High vis and a hard hat... what's it worth not to

Before anyone gets any strange ideas we are both members of our local Geological Association group and would be collecting fossils or something similar

I think you must explain something similar and not leave it to the members imaginations!

There used to be lanyards with names (pre-printed if you booked in advance)when it was Focus on Imaging. I remember one year mine said Dave Bennett, Olympus Photo Safari Group. Remember that group anyone???????

Re: NEC Photo Show deals

I think I still have a Focus on Imaging lanyard, and yes I remember the group although I didn't actually get out with them, sadly.
