If you are interested I still have the E-5 DSLR, wrapped up in its box.

Condition is excellent, and shutter count is reasonably low. If someone can remind me how to access the shutter count I will do so, but I am sure it will be fewer than 15,000 exposures.

I used it recently mounted on a microscope, and it worked well, but exposures are several seconds long so the OM-D E-M5 (43) camera produces cleaner images with less camera shake (owing to the lack of a mechanical mirror, etc.).

There are several batteries, and a brand new battery and charger for the E1 still boxed.

Re: Camera Body (Kent Area)

I'm getting confused in this conversation between E5 (which I take to be the old SLR version, and which some people hyphenate as E-5) and E-M5 (mirrorless, micro four thirds).

Thanks Rob. You are quite correct.

It was late last night and I made some mistakes myself but hopefully I have corrected things now.

Re: Camera Body (Kent Area)

Is the E5 still available, as I need a second one for a trip I am undertaking?

It is indeed. I have used it very little since moving to 43 but it isn't going anywhere.

Please PM me if you want more information.

Re: Camera Body (Kent Area)

I have just done some exploring and can add the following information:

Total shutter count: 12,808.

With flash: 933.

(I had forgotten that it has an integral flash!)

Total switch on cycles (ultrasonic wave cleaner): 2372.

Damage/Fault count: 0

I also have the accessory grip for the E-5 which I will sell with the camera.

For good measure the camera also has a SanDisk Extreme 8 GB Compact Flash card.

Overall condition is unmarked and more or less 'like new'.

I would be sorry to see the E5 go, but it is a shame for it not to be used, and I have too many other cameras.

How much am I bid?

LCE Manchester have an E-5 with HLD-4 grip for 499.

The Devil's own internet auction site lists several from Japan with prices ranging from 411 (body only) to 852 (with HLD-4).

How about 450 to include RM Special Delivery or equivalent?

For what its worth I bought the camera new from Ffordes on 12 May 2011 for 1,450 including VAT.

Re: Camera Body (Kent Area)

Thanks Peter. I will send you a PM.

I am sorting out bits and pieces for the camera at the moment, including some batteries and chargers.

I have just been reading the regulations for sending lithium ion batteries by post and it seems I can legally send a battery fitted in the camera and two in the grip.

Re: Camera Body (Kent Area)

The E5 and accessories are now in the post, thank you Peter.

I must apologise for some of the packaging material that I recycled, a certain red top rag that I wouldn't have purchased myself, but it seemed a shame to waste it.
