Hdew

On my little 12-40 problem, service so far has been excellent.

Lens returned yesterday, cheque in the post today for the value of my shipping cost to the repairer and an email stating that repairs were authorised to be carried out today.

Can't complain so long as the cheque doesn't bounce and the lens comes back all good

Re: Hdew

Found a bit of dust under the front element when cleaning it. Can only be a factory defect.

Re: Hdew

Good to know as I bought a Silver EM1 and a couple of lenses from them last week.
So far I've only heard good reports about HDEW

I have bought a few things from them and, so far, have been completely satisfied.

Re: Hdew

They were excellent over getting my EM-1 repaired (rear dial and flash issue).

Re: Hdew

I bought my OMD5 from HDEW and then he gave me a stonking deal on my 12-40 lens which I am delighted with BUT to be fair I have not had problems that need their help - so cannot really comment.

The sales service was excellent but a true test is when things go wrong / need repair which I haven't experienced so far (touch wood!)

Re: Hdew

Attention all hands: HDEW are showing the E-M5 in black at £295, repeat £295. Is that a bargain or not!
And for all those E-M1 fans, they're doing that in black for £695. Not quite as good a deal.

Re: Hdew

That EM-1 price is £1,000 off typical prices of a year ago.

Re: Hdew

Its back! Its perfect as it was intended.

Warranty is always the proof of a good company, HDEW have their own one year warranty and its great. The lens has been repaired I cannot recommend HDEW enough as a company to deal with. Postage to me when I bought it was very quick, refunded my postage to the repairer (A.J. Johnstone) and it has been returned to me UPS, in a massive box and well packaged.

Top marks all around. Don't hesitate to buy from HDEW!

Re: Hdew

That's a good result for you, and a good recommendation for both HDEW and A.J. Johnson. In fact for anyone with a camera or lens out of warranty, it could be worth getting a quote from AJJ. I've book-marked for future reference.
I've just been looping again at HDEW's site, I see the EM1 is down to £665, but at £295 the E-M5 is a steal. In fact it's not worth considering second hand at those prices, plus you get a warranty that's honoured.

Re: Hdew

I have recently taken delivery of an E M5 for the princely sum of £315+postage of £10. Ordered Friday late pm, it arrived on Wednesday morning. It had the 2.0 update already installed, and I'm really pleased with it, so much so that yesterday I spotted a used HLD 6 for less than £90 on Wex and that arrived this morning.

Great service from both firms and I have a new toy to play with.
