Exclamation Site maintenance from noon today

Sorry for any inconvenience, but the site forum will be closed from noon for about half an hour for a software upgrade.

Thank you!

OK - the update seems to have gone smoothly. If you notice any inconsistencies, please let me know ASAP.

Just had to manually log in the first time. No big deal or problem.

OK, that may be normal. We have skipped quite a few updates since the last one.

There is a problem I'm aware of regarding the member public profile display, half the info is not displaying.

It's Ok - it saves in the cache, just the password autofill doesn't see it as a password for some reason.

My default configuration for Firefox is to forget all cookies when it is closed, so it's not straightforward for me to check this, but I have no issues in IE7. this site's login details are remembered normally in IE7.

I will change my Firefox settings and report back.

Re: Site maintenance from noon today

Tried logging in and out a few times in IE8, FF 3.0.7, Safari 3.2.2 and Chrome 1.0.154.48. As long as I don't log out I am automatically logged in and remembered by all browsers. If I log out my username is auto-filled but have to enter password manually - which is the way I always thought it was. I never log out though so always get in without logging in.

Yup - there may be a need to log in once since the update, but as long as you have set the browser or the login to remember your login, it should be fine after that. My test with Firefox confirms this.

Re: Site maintenance from noon today

I found that I had to clear the old cookies, then log in, which pressumably created fresh cookies. OK now.
