Looking for improvement This is the e-group critique board. If you post a picture here it will be assumed that you are looking for comprehensive technical feedback - both good and bad, but always respectful. Only post pictures here if you can deal with potentially negative constructive criticism. Anyone is qualified to comment and post feedback, and everyone is encouraged to do so. NB: "Looking for Improvement" is the place to post any pictures you would like advice on improving, no matter how bad you might think they are.

e3 & 11 - 22 pano

3 Images joined in auto pano. nd filter and bad weather.



Unfortunatly the trees have gone a little dark with the grad.

Hi Steve - that's a good stitch result if you ask me. I like the atmosphere you have captured. My only niggle is that the horizon seems to be sloping to the left?

Yes but look at the tree.

I think the horizon looks like that because of the mountains.

I suspect that's the effect from stitching 3 wide-angle shots. What focal length did you use? I find that anything wider than 25mm (50mm equiv in 35mm) can give distortion - especially on close-up items as this tree was.

Trees are universally perfectly perpendicular?

The more I look at it the more I'm convinced the horizon is sloping to the left.

I started to look around on the internet for photos from this location.

I know he had better weather. but I think you all win your point and I feel so unworthy.

Ive got to make a point to go back to this spot again I know I can do better.

I did this to it. I think It looks better.

That's much better - it is now a really good atmospheric shot. Pity about the blown leaves in the centre - I might be inclined to clone them out.
