Live View Autofocus Mode

I rarely use Live View but browsing the menu system I came across spanner1->A->LIVE VIEW AF MODE

There 3 settings
AF SENSOR
HYBRID AF
IMAGER AF

I have RTFM pp 37/38 and think I understand what the camera is doing in each case. What is completely unclear to me are the pros and cons of each option and when one should choose one over the others Is there some kind soul who could elucidate please?

Re: Live View Autofocus Mode

The E-30 manual is well down at Oly's usual poor manual standards e.g. "selecting an option in this menu will select an option"

Luckily Andrzej Wrotniak has done his usual excellent job in decyprting what the optsions really mean..

Specifically to your question...

This information is so good I printed a copy to take on holiday and use to set-up my camera - not always agreeing on a specific setting, but at least understanding the decisions.

Regards
Andy
