The video is very interesting Ross! It's a blackbird singing OK, but there's something about its song that doesn't seem familiar. I wonder if the Australian blackbirds have developed a different 'accent' by copying some of your native birds, or maybe it's just 'drift'?

Thanks for the video - it set me thinking.

Thanks for that feedback. I'm sure they mimic the phone sound too, so I guess it stands for reason that their song has developed over many years here now too. After all, we don't talk like our British ancestors now either.
