Just sharing

Got a better day so went out with the camera to the forest behind my house and found two little Tree Creepers. one cleared but the other spent the next mile running up a tree feeding then flying to a new tree about fifty yards away. Due to this and the speed whilst feeding I only got a few keepers and they are not great but catching the little beggar a few times made the walk worthwhile.

Highlights too bright I know.

I then drove up past the Mourne Mountains and took this shot.

Stopped at a local fishing lake as the sun was going down and got this shot , Thoughts and ID help please.

Thanks for taking the time to look, comments welcome.

Re: Just sharing

It's always good to see a Treecreeper and, as you say, they are very active birds, Ed. Nice shots under the circumstances. It is hard to identify the bird but I would say it is some sort of Grebe, probably a Little Grebe but maybe something more exciting.

Re: Just sharing

Thanks Ron. I thought Grebe but I am really not sure as he dived and was gone into the dark side of the lake. Tree Creepers and Wrens need speed limiters!

Re: Just sharing

Love the Mountains shot, very atmoshperic. I have found your two, Wren and Treecreeper a lifelong challenge. Finally got the image I wanted of the Treecreeper a couple of years ago, still waiting in the Wren

Re: Just sharing

We sometimes get a Wren in the garden but usually when the camera is elsewhere. Yes there is something different about the last shot. That is almost what I saw, I was a bit surprised when it came out so well..

The mountain shot is of a rock climb and a track which leads up and into the centre of the mountains.

Thanks all.

The Grebe shot is a bit special, well seen.

Re: Just sharing

Mountains are lovely Ed, and the little Grebe shot looks as though he/she has a purpose in mind.
