Tried that just now with no improvement. The index still has to be refreshed manually as do any new posts. I've tried via IE, Opera and Chrome with the same result.

I need a bit of help Can you describe what happened before and what is different now? I realise you already did this but I can't quite visualise it from your original description. This could be because I need another coffee... but if you could bear with me!

Re: Server move around 8AM on Monday 17th July

Ian, previously when viewing the index page, clicking on the index page button automatically refreshed the index and showed new posts and timings. The only way to refresh the page now is to manually click the "refresh icon" on the browser itself.

After posting this message, I will have to refresh the browser before it appears on the Index Page.

Re: Server move around 8AM on Monday 17th July

I still suspect this is a cookie problem. I was having similar issues and I had to delete e-group.uk.net cookies and re-login. If you have looked at the site using the other browsers at any time in the past there will be out of date cookies.

Sorry for the nuisance!

Re: Server move around 8AM on Monday 17th July

Moving around various posts on the forum then returning to the index page it was always updated to the latest posts and timings. Now it remains static unless the browser is refreshed.

Re: Server move around 8AM on Monday 17th July

These are classic cookie symptoms but I will seek further advice.

Re: Server move around 8AM on Monday 17th July

Closed the browsers, and the forum, ran CC Cleaner which I believe clears cookies. Tried to log back in, Thank You For Logging In " message appeared but I wasn't logged in on the index or any board until I clicked on a post !

Moving from that post to the index or another board, I was logged out again until I clicked another post and was then shown as logged in! Honestly it's true Ian

And the refresh situation hasn't changed.

Re: Server move around 8AM on Monday 17th July

It seems to take the forum software about 5 mins to actually settle down and keep me logged in as I am now.

Re: Server move around 8AM on Monday 17th July

Nobody else seems to be making comments or contributing so maybe it's just me having trouble. I can live with the problems anyway. Good luck with the other tasks

Best regards,

John

Re: Server move around 8AM on Monday 17th July

From my point of view I am not very familiar with the way the forum is being described. We all have our preferences. Looking at the Forum Index link, it calls up a PHP routine. It should either work or throw up an error. This is also why I am having a problem understanding it.

But bear with me - I am looking!

Ian

Thanks Ross, at least I know it's not just me. Ian did ask for any reports of problems which is why I thought I was trying to help.

The log in is related to the same problem as the refresh it seems. After logging in and getting the " Thank You For Logging In" message I have to refresh the browser before actually being shown as logged on.

No doubt it will all get sorted in time.

Regards,
John

Ian, the forum pages are virtually static no matter where you click unless the browser is refreshed. Click on a post indicated it was made 5 mins ago..... close it........ move to another board....... go back to the same post in another 5 mins........ it will still be indicating posted 5 mins ago ! Refresh your browser and the same post will now show it was posted 10 mins ago.

Maybe the clock needs winding up

John
