So, I am one of the tiny percentage. The Chancellor will now hit me with a massive rise in the tax I have to pay. How do i delete this post.

Derek, a popularity poll on here would be totally futile as I am under no illusions whatever in that respect. I don't use the forum to garner popularity. I simply strive to further my photographic knowledge by reading posts from those who I consider have a great amount of photographic ability, skill and understanding of the topic.

I also enjoy a little light hearted banter with a "select few" such as David M who are able to differentiate between that and offensive comments as this helps to pass a few boring moments in the day. As one who has never suffered fools gladly, popularity has never entered my equation and having now reached 70 yrs old, it is very unlikely to.

As for anything else, my Forum Signature sums up my views perfectly.

Best regards,

John

What have I sparked off................

At 69, I am also beginning not to be too worried, but then I'm not yet 3 score and ten, so do still have a little concern for others......

Enjoy...............

That is a dangerous request, particularly in present company.

Tony Blair gave some interesting interviews over the weekend.

And Dr Who has its first lady Doctor.

Well you did ask someone to light the blue touch paper.

Sorry Nigel, your blue touch paper spluttered, fizzled and died due to a severe lack of inflammable substance

A damp squib, perhaps?

Let me try another one. My brother, who lives in Australia, returned his OM-D E-M5 to Olympus for repairs to the shutter mechanism which had stopped working.

It was out of warranty, and Olympus initially gave a silly quote for repairs that would cost more than the camera was worth.

He complained saying that a camera of this price and quality should last for more than three years before it stops working.

After some wrangling Olympus agreed, but said the wait for parts made repairs impractical - so they sent him a brand new OM-D E-M5 Mk II instead!
