Spot on in Tony's case as for the Lady Doctor, I couldn't possibly comment

Let me try another one. My brother, who lives in Australia, returned his OM-D E-M5 to Olympus for repairs to the shutter mechanism which had stopped working.

It was out of warranty, and Olympus initially gave a silly quote for repairs that would cost more than the camera was worth.

He complained saying that a camera of this price and quality should last for more than three years before it stops working.

After some wrangling Olympus agreed, but said the wait for parts made repairs impractical - so they sent him a brand new OM-D E-M5 Mk II instead!
My EPL5 shutter mechanism packed up...No idea how many actuations it had.

Cost £90 to repair by Olympus. Thought it was quite good value for money as the camera was then virtually new........

Mind, never used it since as I progressed up the ladder so to speak..

I have always found Olympus repairs to be reasonable, if not good value.

I think the repair bill my brother was quoted amounted to nearly $600 AUD, which is about £350 GBP, so not cheap at all.
