Anyone seen this?

The answer to a maiden's prayer or a piece of frippery?

Re: Anyone seen this?

I will wait to see actual images before making a judgement. The shots on the website don't tell me anything and certainly don't impress.

If it sounds too good to be true then "It ..............................

as the saying goes.

Re: Anyone seen this?

It could stop the BIF photographers whining the camera won't focus on a BIF.

Re: Anyone seen this?

erm... close focus is 3 meters and their shots clearly show that closer than that is not in focus so how on earth can this claim to be an "always-in-focus lens"

For instance for almost all rooms in my house you would struggle to get far enough away to have someone in focus

IMO it's marketing hyper over substance...

Well yes, having a couple of manual focus 35mm primes lying around I could tape the focusing collar on one and hey presto I've got a prototype.

Re: Anyone seen this?

I just can't see the point of this, any slight wide angel 35mm will do the job better at f8
Rob.

Re: Anyone seen this?

My 1980s Olympus XA did exactly this, it even had indicators for hyperfocal distance and recommended aperture to set it up as an always-ready point-and-shoot. Come to that, so did a Box Brownie!

I would have thought any Pen with a 17mm lens set to MF will do the job. I won't be investing .
