Panasonic 7-14 lens

LENS IS NOW SOLD

I recently bought the Panasonic 8-18 so I'm now selling my Panasonic 7-14. It's a fine lens in many ways and has served me well for many years. I've taken some very satisfying shots with it. It's very sharp edge-to-edge and gives great contrast.

It's in excellent condition with just the slightest signs of use to the body. Optically it's perfect. In addition to the lens itself, there's two key accessories you'll need - the rear UV filter mod and a holder for square filters.

The rear filter-holder mod fixes the problem with purple flare on Olympus cameras. The mod includes a filter holder plus a UV-cut gel filter. There's also most of a spare sheet of gel should you damage the one that's on the lens.

The front filter holder is a custom design made by Photosphere of Singapore. You can find details here: https://photospheresg.com/products/p...14mm-f2-8-lens. I'm including the complete kit - adapter for the lens, Haida 100mm filter carrier plus a Haida 10-stop 100mm square filter. There's also a nice bag for the filter holder and filter.

The lens comes boxed with lens bag.

I'm asking 450 for everything incl RMSD. I think this is a good price since it's about what they go for on eBay but without the filter holders and filters. A Lee Big Stopper plus holder could easily cost you that alone!

Thanks for looking.

Re: Panasonic 7-14 lens

Hi Paul

Do you have any examples of photos taken using the Haida filter?

Thanks

Yes, plenty! Try these... All with the 7-14 on sale. Also, note that I usually add vignetting in LR - it's not necessarily native lens vignetting (although there is some attenuation due to the filter. Not hard vignetting caused by the mount, but attenuation due to oblique light ray path at the edges of the filter ).

Re: Panasonic 7-14 lens

Hi Paul,
I'm new to Olympus and I haven't purchased from the forum before as I just purchase off WEX etc so in not sure about the etiquette etc,

I've purchased an OM-D camera with 2 lenses 12-40mm & 40-150mm I'm now saving for the 7-14mm Olympus but I've just found out that I can also use Panasonic lenses.

I've read that the Oly lens is better than the Panasonic but yours is nearly within my grasp
This is where the site etiquette comes into play, I'm not at your asking price but I have 400.00 in my lens fund I totally understand if this is too low but if you don't as you'll never know.

So my offer would be 400.00 to include P&P

Regards

Re: Panasonic 7-14 lens

Very nice pictures. Not been happy with some of my images for a while so decided to buy myself a new filter system. After a lot of research went for the Nisi system, it has the advantage of coming with a built in independently rotatable Polarizer and room in the holder for up to three 100mm filters, ie grads, NDs etc. Went for a couple of resin filters to start with as the Nisi ones are glass and at the moment out of my reach price wise. Got a significant birthday very soon so will be dropping some subtle hints when the other half asks me for some ideas present wise. Was wondering Paul how you found the Haida holder and resin filters as I see you've included them in the sale of your lens. Have you replaced them with a different system? Regards, IW.

Re: Panasonic 7-14 lens

The PL 8-18 has a screw thread and I already have a 72mm 10-stop ND that works fine with a step-up ring and is more convenient and compact than square filters - hence I'm selling with the lens. I did consider keeping the Haida system, but I figured it might make more sense to sell it as a kit since if someone wants a UWA then a filter system is, IMHO, pretty much mandatory and all the bits on sale here work well together.

The Haida filter holder/system is fine - very nice quality and works just as well as Lee filters IMHO. The quality of the 10-stop filter is good too. Very little colour cast and fairly even attenuation across the frame.

Very nice shots Paul!

It gives the illusion anyone who buys this lens can produce photos like that haha.

Very tempting...

I'm not surprised when it could produce shots like that!
Hope the new one is even better.
