Olympus E-M10ii

Hi all,

I recently got somewhat frustrated with the flip-out screen on my Pen-F for street shooting so decided to try an E-M10ii instead. It's a great camera and the tilt-only screen definitely is better for street, but I really don't want to be running three cameras ( ! ) and the Pen-F is a nicer camera to use than the E-M10ii. So, I'm putting the E-M10ii up for sale. I bought it used, but it's in very good condition and comes boxed with all the accessories plus a spare battery and a leather half-case. Cosmetically it's in excellent condition but there is a very small mark on the LCD if you look hard enough. You won't see it in the photos but it's there if you look hard enough. Shutter count is 5922 as the photos show. I've probably put about 1000 on that number and they were nearly all electronic shutter. Note that the wrist strap shown in the photos is not for sale (unless you really feel you need it!).

I'm asking for 300 incl RMSD next day delivery.

Thanks for looking!

Re: Olympus E-M10ii

I'm surprised this hasn't been snapped up as it seems a very good price compared to what they sell for on ebay. There is a slight chance my daughter might be interested if it hasn't sold by the end of next week. She is currently using an E-620 with a 14-54mm for her Uni course and absolutely loves it, but does struggle with high ISO when shooting in poor light.

She is coming home next week and commuting to London each day to shoot a project and I will be lending her my E-M5 so that she can see how she gets on with a mirrorless camera. If she likes it I'll have the choice of giving her my camera (I don't really use it these days) or squeezing my overdraft for something like this!

Ok John - let me know if you're interested. Since it's for a young 'un we can talk about price

Thanks Paul, I'll be in touch once she has tried out my E-M5, unless somebody buys it in the meantime!

Re: Olympus E-M10ii

Well, she seems to have taken to my E-M5 like a duck to water and wants to keep it despite my offer to buy this E-M10ii, which overall I think is a better camera, especially as my E-M5 can no longer be considered weatherproof due to a faulty seal. I suspect part of her reasoning is that she knows we don't have much money - she is very considerate like that. It now leaves me without a camera, of course (not quite - I do still have an XZ-1) but let's face it, my photography days are over.

So let's give Paul's camera another bump, I still cannot believe nobody has snapped it up yet at this price.

Re: Olympus E-M10ii

No worries about the E-M10ii John - but surely you're not really hanging up the shutter release just yet are you? Someone with your talent just can't stop - please!

I'll second Paul's comment. I was still hoping we'd be able to do that trip to Hadfield Forest one day.

Re: Olympus E-M10ii

The problem is that I am finding it increasingly difficult to handle and operate a camera, with poor results, many missed shots and much frustration. I also find it difficult to walk anywhere. If I'm not enjoying it why do it? I've had a good innings and now take great satisfaction from watching my daughter grow as a photographer - she's in London today for the Chinese New Year celebrations.

Re: Olympus E-M10ii

Shame John, but only you will know when you have reached that point.......

It comes to us all, I used to play squash a lot, but it came to a time I just decided it was not worth the pain, and being beaten by my son.............

Still no reason not to pursue your photographic interest though. Good luck to your gal, and I am sure you can pass on some of you knowledge to her...

Re: Olympus E-M10ii

I'm really sorry to hear that John. I agree there's little point in persevering if you're not enjoying it. Taking pleasure in our children's achievements is very rewarding though, so I can understand that. She's got a huge library of experience and talent to draw on from her father! I hope she realises that

John, you will need something to record the children as the selfies they take just doesn't cut the mustard. Sorry to hear your photographic mojo is on hold.

John, 'photography days over'.... from an armchair, a wheel chair, a car seat, with some adapted support kit, (tripod etc), come on you can still take 'pictures of record'..
With very best regards, and Hugs.
