Absolutely - we were rushing back to the station and it was one of those 'catch the train or take the photo' decisions. I think I made the right call.

Re: Durham Cathedral Photographic Evening

A couple of my shots from this great event.

The sunset is not as classic as Tom's. Well done Tom

There are more on my SmugMug Gallery.

Re: Durham Cathedral Photographic Evening

Hi Adrian
I had a good look at your Durham Cathedral shots and they are just stunning!! Your sunset shots ..... you have nothing to be ashamed about, they are all great. I was in Durham some years ago and I was not able to get inside but I did do the grounds. It is difficult to park a car in that part of town. England is so full of "really great" subjects for photography and most of the guys and girls on this site are putting it all together. When you are a tourist you don't have the same opportunities but we do are best!

Cheers(:>)

Hi there Adrian..

Great pictures on the Smugmug site, not just the Cathedral, either..

Pete

BTW, you have a gallery on the Smugmug site called "Animals and Brids"

I live in hope of photographing a brid, but I have had no luck so far, though I once nearly got a shot of a snoat

You are *way* too modest - some fabulous shots there and the HDRs worked brilliantly.

I must admit I found shooting inside the cathedral, with so many other photographers watching, quite intimidating. Despite that, your photos show great observation as well as composition.

We will have to do another trip so I can learn more from you.

Best,

Tom
