Help...520 mishap.

Had some muck in view when looking through the viewfinder and discounted the lenses.
So looked at the mirror and "poked" my finger across it a few times and all of a sudden these bits above it fell out...

I can use my old broke 510 as a guide or spares if things go wrong but I think I remember someone posting a video about repairing things like this.....does any one remember it please.

Re: Help...520 mishap.

I seem to remember posting this a long time ago.Ok it's an E500 but I used it for my E3.
Just remember to be very careful not to scratch the screen, hold it with tweezers by the little tab at the side.It quite fiddly to get back in.if I remember correctly it was more easy to locate the front single lug in place ant then use something like a small screw driver to slide the cradle into place so the two lugs at the back clip in.

Be very careful,I did this along time ago and my memory isn't that good.

PS don't forget to get that big hair off the screen first.

Good luck and I take no responsibility .

Re: Help...520 mishap.

Cheers Andy,
I thought I had seen it ages ago.....

I hope I do it better than he did with mounting the lens...lol

If it's even twice as hard as it was coming out it will still be easy.....I could not believe how easy it was to dislodge it.I wonder if it was loose to start with ?

Re: Help...520 mishap.

Thanks again Andy.

Had a go at it and after a few tries got it all back in.
As you can see from my pic the part on the left has a bent part where it clips onto the front of the holder and it would not hold properly so I nicked the one of my broken E510 and now it fitted great.

From now on I will have to keep fingers out !!

Glad you were able to fix it OK, Keith, but for goodness sake get a Rocket air duster and/or a blower brush!
