Don't Touch this Touch ID Software Offer Button

It could cost you $99 per week.

Re: Don't Touch this Touch ID Software Offer Button

Strange that. The other day I was sitting in a pub and wanted to check my iOS Good Beer Guide app. The subscription had expired so it invited me to renew. To cut a long story short, in order to do that I needed to use Touch ID, enter my Apple Store password, enter the CVC code on my credit card, use Touch ID again, and enter my iOS device 6-digit passcode. The whole process took what felt like about ten minutes and made me quite cross.

This morning I received an e-mail from Apple telling me that in future I would have to use separate unique passwords for each app that wanted to use my iCloud data, plus two-step authentication. I sometimes think it would be easier to hack into MI5 than use Apple's products; apart from backing up my iPhone I shan't use iCloud in future, it's too much like hard work.

Then something like the OP turns up with virtually no security whatsoever - woe betide anyone who doesn't read that app properly before using the Touch ID button. Apple certainly seems to have some double standards!
