Stranded in Darwin

Gmail

Mazda is waiting for an ABS module and pads to be shipped from Melbourne,
so meanwhile I'm stranded in Darwin until at least next Friday at a crumby hotel with a lady I met in Darwin this week.

As you can imagine we've been plenty busy exploring the city which is utterly exhausting in 30C heat beneath clear blue skies ... life can be tough at times.

The Metro's very basic accommodation for stranded campers

A quiet cuppa at the garden's old church restaurant

BOAB (Bloody old aged barsted)

We spent the day walking our legs off through Darwin's tropical botanic gardens

Absolutely Fabulous!

Blooming lovely

"Next Friday" may be what you're telling your new lady friend, but I'll bet the car was ready yesterday.

I don't blame you, make the most of the situation!

Oddly enough, that is just what I was thinking John.

Re: Stranded in Darwin

John, Andrew, Nigel, I will have you know that my intentions as always were pure and honourable

After dinner we visited at the Oyster bar on Darwin Warf before dropping in for a 'Souvi' at last night's Greek Festival on the waterfront.

Re: Stranded in Darwin

Nigel, Ed, John, I swear, I had no idea as to the effect those devilish little molluscs could have on an aging man.

Over-rated. We tried a dozen and the last 2 didn't work. Still, we don't need to go to that restaurant again anyway.

Re: Stranded in Darwin

Mark if you've only just met and she's willing to let you plaster her photo all over here then she's a real brick. You make sure you treat her nicely and tell the garage to take their time. Enjoy your good fortune both of you. Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke.

Re: Stranded in Darwin

Leonardo ( Mark) when do you ask her to do a " sitting" for you that would take more time; and you would have to wait until that special blue material arrived. ( or any other colour you chose?)

John, OM, Phill, Ed - Thanks for your wise words of advice, I shall bear them in mind, and she's cool at having her image on here.
