Yes Phill, its a Ioptron SkyTracker. The gadget turns the camera at the same speed as the stars move. Thus allowing longer exposures. Theoretically you could expose for hours. It has to be aligned to true north, it has a small scope to pinpoint the North Star. You can buy one for less than £300 new if you shop around.

I have a large 8" telescope which is magic, but is heavy and effectively can only be used in my garden. Alas light pollution reduces its effectiveness. This camera tracker will allow me to go to dark places (!) and photo the heavens..

Sorry Folks, moon is getting too much exposure. But this is with the 300mm F4 + TC1.4 on a tripod, about 15 images stacked in Registax………….
