Rumour has it that pdk42 is buying the first round, a reason to go in itself!
You will not find that on google.
I hope this includes soft drinks as I do not drink beer, tea or coffee.

It must be said that the Imagespace site is not very clearly implemented in a variety of ways: its a bit of a triumph of style over usability. Finding what you want is sometimes difficult.

There's a reasonable list of talks by allegedly famous photographers (some of them genuinely so), and my list of stuff (bits and pieces of gear, photo papers etc) to investigate is getting worryingly long...

Re: Photography Show NEC 17-20 March 2018

Actually the Photography Show site itself is hard to use in some ways, the app is useless to create a proper itinerary, and a lot of the talks are hidden on Exhibitors' own sites (Olympus being a case in point).

So, I snoop round the usual suspects and put together by cutting and pasting my own list of talks and workshops etc I will and could go to for each day. I book in to some talks, but leave a lot of the time flexible.

I've just about finished doing that this time for the 3 days I'm there, so as a public service [!] I'll post the lists below. This doesn't in any way include all the talks and demos that are on, just the ones that interest me (so you won't find anything on studio work, portraiture, video or drones, to name but 4), but I hope it's useful

First, Sunday:

11.00 – Tesni Ward Olympus stand for 30’ and 10’ questions:
‘A year of wildlife photography – trials and tribulations!’ – A year of shooting incredible wildlife photography with the OM-D E-M1 Mark ll. See Tesni’s amazing images and find out about her triumphs as well as challenges, and how she overcame them whilst out in the field.

I've listed the ones I've booked in to (£10 a pop - I think all are on their 'Superstage') and all the others on those lists are free and don't need booking.

Some are very popular and you have to arrive really early to get a seat, but others are almost empty - for example, I went to a fantastic talk by the great Scottish landscape photographer Colin Prior last year in the Gitzo theatre, and it was barely 1/4 full. Just poorly advertised, I assume.

There will undoubtedly be a range of other talks, book signings etc held on various stands around the place (for example, Gitzo, Lee and Nisi usually have talks, but I can't see anything on their websites currently), so it would be really helpful if people posted anything else good they find about about on this thread.

Re: Photography Show NEC 17-20 March 2018

I've been clearing out the photo gear cupboard and I've come across a Neewer USB battery charger for the Oly BLN-1 (the batteries for the E-M1 mki, E-M5i and ii, E-P5 and maybe others - do check). It's just the battery unit, not the USB cable.

It's this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Neewer%C2%A...595NFYMN0GWKTV

Perfect working order as far as I know and too good to chuck away without trying to hand it on, but I now don't have any BLN-1s to test it. Very handy when travelling light, since it's a lot smaller and lighter than an Oly mains charger plus plug and cable.

Free to a good home provided by anyone at the Monday midday meetup at the Oly stand: first to say they'll have it, first served. Happy to link up at any other mutually convenient time if we can arrange it (I'm at the show at various times Sun-Tues inclusive).

Re: Photography Show NEC 17-20 March 2018

Anybody found a show map on the web site this year? Last year someone found one which could be printed and I've been looking but to no avail so far.

The smartphone app last year was useless and as of a couple of days ago this years isn't even available on the Google playstore although the www site says it is.
