turning off screen

is there any way to turn off the live view on screen while on walkabout as I/we tend to use the EVF mainly

I'm not sure about the details with the E-M10, but somewhere in the EVF section of the menus you ought to be able to find a setting for something like "Eye detect" whihc probably defaults to "On" - so when it thinks the camera is at your eye it shows on the EVF and when it isn't it shows on the back. If you change it to "Off" you can switch it manually between the two using the Live View button.

What he said. Button should be somewhere near the eyepiece. I think its long press to change mode and short press to switch between eyepiece and lcd - but check the manual.

sorted turned off eye control in EVF menu ,then turned screen off via the little side button .
