Ah yes, that's a classic. The one of Bailey with George Cole is brilliant too!

Blimey I must be getting old I actually remember that ad now (I was a kid though...!)

Thanks for posting, it probably led to the purchase of my first real camera a few years later, an Om2n...

Re: olympus wedding photographer

No probs, I was too young to remember these, but just looked up the George Cole ones and they are good too

Re: olympus wedding photographer

Remember that very well. I bought one at the time and was my first Olympus camera. Still got it and still works perfectly.

My first camera was the Olympus XA. What a classic little camera!

Re: olympus wedding photographer

Maybe this should be the basis of a new Pen or ZX-1 campaign

Good idea though Oly have used Kevin Spacey in the absence of such celebrity photographers like Bailey & Lichfield nowadays...

Are there any 'celebrity photographers' these days (as opposed to photographers of celebrities). Lichfield and Bailey were household names, well known to the general public.

Celebrity nowadays seems limited to those who don't actually do anything that could be celebrated.

Re: olympus wedding photographer

Govert de Roos from Holland, photographs a lot of celeb portraits and he uses Olympus, from his bio, if he doesn't use medium format he uses Olympus

Doesnt Bailey still use the Pen for some things ????
