Adobe CS6 at Amazon uk

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Adobe-Photo.../dp/B007R0RKV8

I purchased a few days ago when it was only 15, email arrived with instructions for downloading together with license key. I've installed and I'm up and running. Noticed the product is still for sale, however the price has risen slightly. Good time to bag a copy if you're after a stand-alone version of CS6.

Re: Adobe CS6 at Amazon uk

Tempting as I could ditch my CC subscription and be quids in after 3 months. Mind you I've promised myself to give Lightroom a go sometime and I'm likely to make the Win10 jump fairly soon so a Win7 version ....hmm is it worth it?

Re: Adobe CS6 at Amazon uk

I'm running the 64 bit version of CS6 (15 from Amazon) on W8.1 without problem. I can't see why it would stop functioning on W10.
Part of the installation process was to register CS6 on CC, and having done so it allowed me to update the package.

I've been using Lightroom for a little while now and was thinking about looking for an alternative.

Sat down with a Nikon user who uses DXO and a couple of other programs because they're "better" than Lightroom and went on to list all the things he did with DXO and how they couldn't be done in LR....

I just showed him LR and he was gobsmacked as it's all there plus de-haze which completely shocked him! And although I found LR a bit clunky, it was head and shoulders faster than his process!

Having said all that - he's a computer "expert" so probably had the thing set up wrong! even though it' "a serious 8 core system -excellent performance"

The big difference was the speed to import and pre process the photos, I took around 15 mins to sort out 1500 photos, which includes running a custom set of steps for processing to a given reference point, he was quoting several hours for a similar process!

Co6 4uh works fine with win 10 running it on my laptop with no problems other than it doesn't support the newer cameras so have to convert orf to dng beforehand.

Re: Adobe CS6 at Amazon uk

I tend to normally avoid such offers not being sure where the SW has come from and I don't like the fact that thing could be hacked versions

but I looked into this and found you use the actual Adobe installer, you are just getting the licence key in reality I gave it a go and at 1st look it seems to work fine - that's me sorted for another decade - I was using CS3 launched in 2007

Thanks

Regards
Andy
