The dive

When reviewing photos taking this summer I came across this sequence that I hope some of you would enjoy. 1/10 second between frames. The last frames in the sequence are not worth posting as the reed belt effectively masks the plunge and take off (with catch). To get that on camera I would have to use another location and shooting angle with not so nice background. If you wonder about it, the background is the skyline of an attractive residential area in my home town. In between the urbanized area and the sea front is a bird sanctuary with meadows, reeds and a tiny creek.

Thanks for looking.

Re: The dive

Looks like he is diving into the reed bed? Excellent sequence.

Re: The dive

I wonder if the crossed feet are a positioning aid when hovering?

The fourth shot for me because the urban background makes it different.

It's diving into the outlet of a tiny creek that flows through the reed bed. To capture this sequence of the Tern diving in this setting quite a few conditions must be fulfilled. Water level, current, wind, sun angle, subject around and in the right mood.
