A handsome male Sparrow portrait


Female Sparrow far more interested in eating

Just going for a stroll... a Herring Gull


Is this a Winchat?


A sulking wet bored Osprey (never seen one before and this is as good as I could get! )

Just downloaded www.spinysoft.co.uk/BirdGuides.html on the IPhone. Available for Android as well. Handy if in the field and you can't be certain what you are looking at...

No that's Mrs Walti's hand, the photo was taken with the 300 lens so I had to stand a little way away...

That's what I thought, but I kept changing my mind!

I also saw plenty of Rock Pipits, a pair of Choughs (both posted elsewhere) Stonechat (didn't get a decent photo of one)

I would have tried it as I could see I could only get one in focus, but they were scurrying around too quickly!

It is a great shot indeed !

I don't think I've ever seen a Turnstone in reality. Blackbirds and sparrows seem to be the norm around here plus numerous annoying magpies.

There's also the North American Merlin bird ID app which now includes three bird packs for Europe.
