TG-5 with ISO 2000 1/5000 Shutter speed

EM1 ii with 40-150+1.4TC ISO2000, 1/2000 shutter speed.

Better camera produces not significantly better photo....

I guess these little Bluetits have a very fast wing speed, and as they are taking off the speed is at a maximum.

Keep trying Johnny....

Tits and a Nuthatch at 1/5000. Certainly an improvement....but still wanna do better. Above ISO800, noise is not good. ????????????????

The Nuthatch is a cracking capture, what PP program do you have, if the noise in the background bothers you cant you do some selective NR.

Re: Communal Bird Photography Thread

Thanks for that. Lightroom6 is my poison..............

I am not too worried about the background here, as I was really just trying to get good feather detail etc.

Easier to move the bird feeder.........

Re: Communal Bird Photography Thread

Hi Guys, Just found this injured little bird in my garden. Not sure what species, very small and young. It is injured cannot fly, have put it in a covered shoe box with some crumbs, chopped fruit. I cannot see it surviving, however if any of you knowledgeable birders can advise I will try and help it.

Re: Communal Bird Photography Thread

Cant offer any advice except

I would leave it somewhere it can get free. I had a similar thing last week when a baby (wood pigeon) fell out of its nest in a tree in my garden. It was fairly mature baby ( if that makes sense) and I think just a bit stunned. It let me come right up to it. I decided to just leave it and check every hour on status. After about 3 hours it flew off.

I agree yours doesn't look to well.

An uncropped shot of a Grey Heron in the afternoon sunshine at Carlton Marshes. I am still sometimes surprised by the reach of the 300mm f4 and MC-14 teleconverter.

RSPB advice is leave it alone. Mum will sort it, if the cat does not get there first. Definitely keep the cat in....
