My AVG Free is dead - Is there another free AV?

Error code: 0xC0070643

Get it when reinstalling your AVG Free 2102 and your AVG is DEAD FOREVER.

I've spent 7 hours today tring to reinstall - no good.
Had AVG for donkeys years and I get the occasional problem but this time...

AVG as a company is now going to DIE.

So, what alternative is there please?

Try Avast! It's free and not as memory intensive as some other programs.

Avira is another one... although it does have annoying "buy me" ads...

Sorry, I meant 2013: http://www.avg.com/gb-en/homepage

I had it on my computer this morning, then uninstalled it after a system restore meant that AVG Free 2013 did not work any more.

A re-install failed, then I spent hours trying every fix. I've now sent various logs and info to AVG to see if they can sort it.

You could try paying for the AVG Internet Security suite & they have AVG 2013 available now too (sorry, I've just read the rest of the posts). The more computers you have in the house, the cheaper it becomes.
