Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

If the 2.0 TC works with the 40-150mm pro and the 300mm pro lens then I will certainly buy that. Otherwise, I think I will pass on the EM1X and the 400mm Zoom and wait to see what else Oly do going forward.

Don't know if I dare say this on here but having spent a few days walking around New York my EM1mk2 with 12-400mm lens was just too big and heavy not to mention very noticeable in a crowd.

My son just got the Ricoh GR2 and he loves it for street shots, its so small and light.

I am very tempted to try the latest Google Pixel 3 smartphone!
Its camera is getting rave reviews and its low light capability is certainly beginning to challenge traditional cameras. It is almost good enough for street shots use, but obviously not for the more demanding shots.

I must admit that I find the 12-44 PRO too big at times so haven't changed it for a 12-100 (or 12-400!) I did invest in a 7.5 mm lens which is tiny and reaffirms the m4/3 philosophy... but does mean you have to be a lot closer to the action to get the photo you may want.

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

According to the 43rumors site, the EM1X will be priced at Y365,000

That's about £2,615 at today's rates.

Lower than many have predicted.

I've just shown your post to the Accounts Dept. The resulting comment was:

"Dream on. It's 2K over budget and the decorators coming in March"

It's OK, the camera probably won't be coming until March next year!

In which case, you either live alone or alternatively, she finds it easier to let you think you're the accounts department

That's AU$4,655.90 for me (which hopefully doesn't directly translate & comes in under AU$4,500). My supervising accountant says that's about $4,655.90 over budget for me.

My 2 cents, or whatever, over at the slowly reviving Four Thirds User sibling to this site:
